CNC Operator

Overview
Snap-on Incorporated is a leading global innovator, manufacturer and marketer of tools, equipment, diagnostics, repair information and systems solutions for professional users performing critical tasks. Working in a factory environment, a Snap-on associate will be expected to follow safety procedures while performing work in a CNC-Flow-Line to manufacture high quality products. The Flow-Lines utilize CNC mills and lathes amongst other equipment. Snap-on associates are responsible for quality, production performance, and safety.
Responsibilities
Participate in creating and maintaining a safe work environment, including hazard recognition and taking personal responsibility for safety
Operate (bar-fed) CNC lathes and mills
Apply math, measuring, and blue print reading skills to ensure quality
Measure product with calipers, micrometers, and/or hard gauges
Make offsets changes to tool and/or machine to ensure adherence to print specifications
Interact/communicate with co-workers, supervisors, and other members of management
Participate in training and development activities
Qualifications
Knowledge Requirements:
Associate degree in machining or at least one year of experience in a (CNC) metalworking environment
Basic understanding of the capabilities (and limitations) of CNC lathes, mill, and bar-feeders
Capable of changing cutting tools (i.e. end-mills and inserts)
Understanding of basic G-codes and M-codes
Ability to read blueprints, calipers, and micrometers (both digital and analog)
Keep operator records and complete all necessary paperwork
Must maintain a safe work environment
Strong hazard recognition skills while taking personal responsibility for safety
Excellent written and verbal communication, work ethic, punctuality, and attendance
Ability to work on 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift


Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
